Indirect translation is heavily loaded with negative connotations. It is often considdred as poor copy of a copy, as in Xerox effect where each successive passage through the photocopying process entaild a loss of detail.

Word: Gullible 🗣️➡😲😧😯

Have you ever heard, read, or used the word gullible? Do you know what this word means? ❓❓❓

According to Oxford Dictionary, the definition of gullible is:

“too willing to believe or accept what other people tell you and therefore easily tricked.”

As stated by Merriam-Webster Dictionary, the synonyms of gullible are dewy-eyed, easy, exploitable, naive, susceptible, trusting, unwary, wide-eyed. The antonyms of gullible are suspicious and cynical.

If you describe someone as gullible, you mean they are easily tricked because they are too trusting. This is not a good trait. 🙅🙅‍♂️

It is thought that gullible might be derived from the verb gull, meaning “to swallow.” This would be a funny coincidence as gullible describes an overly trusting person who tends to swallow the stories he hears whole. The related word, gull, can be used as a noun “don’t be such a gull!” or as a verb “you can’t gull me into believing that!”

Gullibility is a failure of social intelligence in which a person is easily tricked or manipulated into an ill-advised course of action. It is closely related to credulity, which is the tendency to believe unlikely propositions that are unsupported by evidence.

If you are gullible, the joke is on you because you are easily fooled. 😅😝

So, be careful and don’t be fooled! 😊👌

Di dalam kehidupan, kita pasti memiliki banyak kesibukan masing-masing baik itu dalam hal pekerjaan kantor, tugas kuliah, tugas sekolah dan urusan yang lainnya. Semua urusan atau pekerjaan pasti memiliki masa tenggat untuk diselesaikan atau bahasa trend-nya adalah deadline.

Deadliner sendiri merupakan mental seseorang yang cenderung suka-suka menunda-menunda tugasnya atau yang biasa dikenal dengan sebutan SKS (“Sistem Kebut Semalam”). 🌃

Kata deadline dan deadliner kerap digunakan oleh kalangan muda, khususnya para milenial. Kata-kata ini sudah tidak bersifat asing lagi walaupun berasal dari bahasa asing, yakni bahasa Inggris.

Apa istilah deadline dan deadliner dalam Bahasa Indonesia? ❓❓❓

deadline = tenggat waktu ⏰📅

deadliner = pengejar tenggat ⏰🏃‍♀️🏃

Tenggat waktu bisa diartikan sebagai batas waktu untuk melakukan sesuatu. Contohnya, tenggat waktu untuk mengumpulkan laporan adalah pada tanggal 1 Maret 2021.
